Fragrance composition
Jardins de Bagatelle is an airy, clean and sparkling fragrance. The heart notes, reminiscent of a bouquet of beautiful white flowers, hide neroli, jasmine and gardenia. The base of the fragrance belongs to tuberose highlighted by woody notes.
History of the fragrance
The fragrance was inspired by the gardens of the mansion built at the request of Marie Antoinette in the Bosque de Bologna in just 64 days. The palace gardens were considered very silly, but they became the most romantic place in the castle.
The main role in this romantic fragrance belongs to tuberose, whose aphrodisiac effects were known to Louis XVI. He ordered the palace to be perfumed with tuberose to discover pregnant women who should not be in the royal court. The aroma of tuberose was unpleasant for pregnant women to the point of fainting.
